This month August 2010

30th August 2010
When I took a look back in my Photoshop files for August I didn't realise I had shot around 1000 images.
I don't like shooting stuff for the sake of it and prefer to get the image right in the camera, but there were reasons for such a high number this month.
My son James and I went along to watch our beloved football team,Sheffield Wednesday, in training and I shot a lot of goal incidents for a bit of practice.
This paid dividends, not only for myself, but also for my team as they currently sit on top of the NPower League 1.
I visited the exhibition of the "Pictures of Sheffield Old and New" at the Sheffield Winter Gardens and made my usual weekend trips to the east coast of Yorkshire.
My son has taken a distinct interest in photography and he looks reassuringly confident in holding a heavy Canon camera with zoom lens.Hence another reason for a high shutter count and possibly an expensive Christmas present for him !
I ventured in to new territory, working with GJ Photography of Bawtry, to cover the wedding of Mick & Elaine at Kenwood Hall and this was a very rewarding experience.I am really pleased with the resulting images.
I had one disappointment, with poor light, after getting up at 5am to shoot the sunrise from Sewerby Beach,Bridlington.I have posted the image, but it is not what I had hoped for.
The diverse weather conditions in August produced some vivid rainbows and sunsets during my trips to the east coast and these are posted in the landscapes category.
I am currently experimenting with long exposure image capture, after purchasing a 10 stop LEE ND filter, and will be posting these soon.
